Raksha Bandhan  in 2020 Raksha Bandhan   Raksha Bandhan is one of the important festival in Hindu religion . It is also called as festival of Rakhi .This festival is celebrated all over India on the full moon day ( Poornima) of Shravan month according to Hindu calendar . Raksha Bandhan is festival of brother and sister on this day sister tie a special band called "Rakhi" on their brother wrist . A Rakhi is made up of cotton thread , silk thread or it can be made up of silver or gold also . In Indian tradition the fragile thread of Rakhi is considered as even stronger than iron chains as it strongly binds brothers and sisters in the circumfrence of mutual love and trust . Sister prepare the "Pooja Thali" with diyas and kumkum chawal , sweets and Rakhi . They worship god , tie Rakhi on the wrist of their brother and wish for their well being .
